Michael Rodriguez

Michael is from Joliet, IL where he commutes to school day to day. He is the first member of his family to attend college. He is currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in accounting and eventually wants to be a Certified Public Accountant. Michael has experience is varies fields of business including working as a personal banker for 3 years. Having played in organized sports all his life, he has a competitive nature that helps him stay focused and motivated.He hopes through LABS he can help bring the best opportunities to his fellow members and classmates. His ambitions not only come from his experiences but also from his family. Michael wants to set a path that will allow his five younger siblings lead a successful career.

Todd Turner

Todd is a 7 year US Navy veteran who resides in the historic neighborhood of Bronzeville in Chicago, IL. As a full-time undergraduate marketing major and international business minor student he is challenged on the daily basis. He enjoys traveling and learning about the many different cultures of the world. Some places that Todd has enjoyed visiting are: Hawaii, Mexico, Victoria B.C. Canada and Brasil. As the Vice President of LABS he: attends Leadership Council meetings led by the Assistant Director of the UIC Graduate College of Business Administration, proof reads and edits meeting agendas, promotes numerous fundraising, socializing, educational and professional networking events.

Stephanie Mendez

Born in Chicago and raised in Palatine, IL. Stephanie is only the second person in her family to attend college. She is a Junior pursuing a bachelors degree in finance and plans to become a financial advisor. Being the oldest out of four siblings, she hopes to set an example for her younger brothers and inspire them to gain a higher education. As a recent transfer student this year, Stephanie is honored with her opportunity to be apart of LABS E-board as the treasurer. She is eager to apply her knowledge to the organization as well as continuing to learn. 

Jhoselin Espinoza

Born in Chicago, Illinois and raised in Cicero, Illinois, Jhoselin is the first generation in her family to attend a University. She is currently pursuing Bachelor's degree in Accounting and a minor in Management Information Systems. She plans to become a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). She would like to work for a non-for-profit during her career .Her ultimate goal is to open up her own business after pursuing her career. Jhoselin is currently the President and Founder of Alpha Delta Rho Multicultural Sorority. This organization has helped her become more involved with the UIC and Chicago-land community. She has volunteered and helped needy, underprivileged and low-income families and individuals and is determine to keep being involved while achieving her career goals. Jhoselin is also a member of DePaul's Students for Students Organization, where she would be mentoring under privilege High School students from Morton East High School. Jhoselin is an Alum from this high school and is thankful to have the opportunity to go back and promote the benefits of higher education.

Oscar Gaspar

Oscar Gaspar was born and raised in the Northwest side of Chicago. Currently a senior, he is pursuing a bachelors degree in Marketing and a minor in International Business. His goal is to work for a dynamic marketing firm and ultimately, open his own marketing agency. Being the first in his family to graduate college, he is leading the charge to be a good role model for his younger siblings. Through creativity and a high dose of passion, Oscar wishes to inspire the Latino youth to reach new heights and LABS is the perfect platform to start.

Lucia Gonzalez

Lucia Gonzalez was born and raised in the South Side of Chicago . She is majoring in Business Management but her goal is to own her own business. Lucia has competed in business plan competitions and enjoys taking on challenges. Volunteering and helping others are some of her favorite activities so she hopes to bring her passion to LABS and get other members involved in volunteering.

Alexandra Molina

Alexandra was born and raised in Ecuador and moved to Chicago when she was 10 years old. She is currently a sophomore at UIC and is pursuing a Business Degree, majoring in Information and Decision Sciences. Her short term goal is to study abroad in France and take advantage of their advanced business programs. Her long term goal is to get her MBA at UIC and start her own company. She enjoys helping other people and volunteering has been a good way to do so. As a webmaster she plans to use her creativity and make the website the best one LABS has had yet.

Elisa Cervantes

Elisa was born and raised in Chicago. She graduated with honors from Richard J. Daley College and is currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting at UIC. Her goal is to become a Certified Public Accountant. Along her journey she continues to expand her involvement in the community and extracurricular activities on campus.

Rogelio Loya

I'm the youngest of my family raised on the South Side of Chicago but now reside in the South Suburbs. At UIC I am majoring in Accounting and plan on obtaining a Master's of Business Administration (M.B.A.) and become a Certified Public Accountant (C.P.A.). Upon completing my education, I plan to work and travel throughout the United States and eventually throughout South America. My overall goal is to open a business possibly in retail or service. While In LABS, I am going to contribute and share my knowledge with others as well as learn from the organization.

Martin Martinez

Martin was born in Chicago, IL in a predominately Hispanic neighborhood, also known as Back of the Yards. He is the first in his family to attend college. Currently pursuing Bachelor’s in Science of Accounting and a minor in International Business, he dedicates most of his time to his studies. He hopes to one day become a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and work for one of the “Big Four.” The oldest of four children, he hopes to lead by example and show his younger sisters that hard work pays off and a college education is important. As the Marketing Director of LABS he will try his best to market the organization to the best of his ability and get more students to join, expanding its diversity.

Yolanda Rodriguez

Yolanda is a LABS alumna who was very involved with the group during her undergraduate career. She served in the e-board and formed great friendships that have lasted to this day. LABS also exposed her to great learning experiences and networking occasions. It is an honor for her to have the opportunity to serve as the Faculty Advisor for LABS and looks forward to helping the current members form a strong connection with the young LABS alumni.
